Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the IRCON‟s commitment to its stakeholders to conduct business in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner that is transparent and ethical. IRCON is committed to undertake CSR activities complying with the provisions of Section 135 of the Indian Companies Act, 2013 and related Rules. IRCON believes in working jointly with local communities to improve the rural infrastructures, transportation facilities, health care to deprived sections of the society, to fulfill the education need of the children, safe drinking water and sanitation facilities in schools as well as in hospitals, Women Empowerment and adoption of environment friendly technologies etc.
IRCON being a leading construction company, many of the CSR activities have been implemented in project mode so as to achieve maximum utilization of the fund allocated by using its capable manpower & organizational resources etc. IRCON‟s continuous efforts in the social development have been recognized by awards like "India Today PSU Award 2014‟ for "CSR & Sustainability" under Mini Ratna category and "SCOPE Meritorious Award‟ for "Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsiveness" both for year 2012-13.
IRCON implements CSR projects under framework of the Companies Act, 2013, IRCON‟s CSR and Sustainability Policy 2014 and DPE Guidelines.

IRCON's Focus Areas for CSR Initiatives
The focus areas for CSR initiatives have been broadly the Health, Education, Infrastructure Development, Environment Friendly Technologies, Women Empowerment, Employment enhancement through Skill Development Trainings, Relief Measures for the rehabilitation of victims of natural calamities etc. The CSR initiatives as implemented by IRCON are purely from Schedule VII of the Companies Act,2013.
Disclosure and Reporting
As per rule 8 of CSR Rules issued by Ministry of Corporate Affairs in line with the provisions of the Companies Act 2013, a company is mandated for reporting its status of CSR initiatives in its annual Board‟s Report with a separate chapter as well as in annual "Sustainability Report‟. Also according to the rule 9 of the CSR Rules, the company has to disclose the content of its CSR Policy and to publish it on the page of company‟s website.
As per rules, the company publishes its CSR performance with a chapter in Directors‟ Report as well as publishing the Sustainability Report every year.
